It was really delightful to see Abraham and Susana again and to meet their two beautiful children.  Sara is a bright and curious toddler with a hypnotic gaze.  Little Luis is a bundle of newborn deliciousness.  We visited briefly with the whole family at home before setting off to see the new WFP office a short walk away.  After thieves made off with expensive computers from the home office, Abraham decided to rent a more secure place.  Peter and I were surprised at what he’d found.  The new office is the top floor of a brand new 5 story building.  Built originally as an apartment, it makes a rather luxurious and expansive office space, with multiple rooms, kitchen, veranda, and a stunning view of Cochabamba.  Because of the economic situation in the area, this splendid space is costing only $100 US a month!  Clearly Abraham was pleased with his coup, not only for the added security, but for the ability to escape from the family and work undisturbed.  We spent several hours Saturday setting up computer equipment, creating a small network to share files and printers, configuring the fax capabilities of the computers, and doing some skills training.  This work continued again on Monday afternoon before we left Cochabamba.

We stayed in the Casa Internacional, an inexpensive place downtown run by a German ex-patriot.  We highly recommend this hotel for future travelers.  It’s quiet, well-run, and the breakfast is great.
