Dennis traveled to Cochabamba in early August. He met with the community representatives to familiarize them with the Dosatron pilot project. The pilot project is a partnership between WFP and the communities. WFP was responsible for installing the Dosatron and providing chlorine for a year. In exchange, the communities are asked to monitor the effectiveness of the Dosatrons over the next year. I met Dennis in Cochabamba in mid-August.
We visited Koari Medio on Monday. Much to our surprise we were greeted with snow-capped mountains and sleet from the sky. Koari Medio had recently celebrated the inauguration of their water system, consisting of storage tanks and tap stands at each house (funded by WFP). They are currently building adobe bricks in anticipation of the latrine installations (also funded by WFP).
