Blue Planet Run 24 Highlights:

NC Water for People Chapter had very enthusiastic participation in Blue Planet Run 24 held in scenic Black Mountain near Asheville on May 3-4th 2008. NC Water for People had two teams running the 6 hour competition.

The all Female Team consisted of Yi Wang (McKim& Creed), Swetha Manian, Tesha Okioga, Phon Bouaphanh (Black & Veatch), Ilke McAliley (HDR) and Hu Zhengzheng (CDM).

The Co-Ed team consisted of Ash Vakharkar (McKim& Creed) and Patricia Drummey (Hazen & Sawyer).

The two teams went real strong against all the other teams in difficult, mountainous terrain and emerged victorious.  (Both the teams finishing 1^st in their respective categories). While doing this run NC WFP was able to generate close to $600.00 towards the Blue Planet Run cause.

Part of the money generated by Blue Planet Run will go towards WFP for various projects. Below is a picture of the enthusiastic bunch of runners who participated in this event. We look forward to having more participation at the run next time. Blue Planet Run is still falling short on their goal of raising $10,000 towards the cause.
